Make Your Own Valve/Clutch Spring Tester

(for less than $100)

What you will need:

1 - 2" dial indicator. Enco (www.use-enco.com) has them on sale often for $18 or less. Enco Model Number: 605-4205. Remove the round tip when you get it.

1 - Royal EX-310 digital scale. This scale reads to 350 pounds by tenths of a pound. Costco (www.costco.com) has them $50 or less.

1 - Dial indicator holder. Will be available through FCHP shortly (or make your own).

I also used aluminum plates to mount the scale pad on so it does not rock on the drill press table and I also used an aluminum plate to set the valve spring on so it takes any flex out of the scale pad (if there is any).
