VALVE SPRING SEAT PRESSURE TESTER

AIR CYLINDER STYLE

In the pictures above you will see how I made my seat pressure checker. I used a 4-1/2" 0-60psi gauge. In the top picture on the right is the air pressure regulator that is used to adjust how much air pressure you are sending to the air cylinder. The air cylinder is pictured alone in the bottom picture. The part number at Grainger for air cylinder is 1A429. When I built the system I already had this cylinder so I used it. If I had to do it over I would have used one of the round cylinders. The round cylinder will fit into the back corner of the block and get to the intake lifter MUCH better.

One thing I did that I ended up re-doing was I started out by using plain fuel line tubing for the air tubing. That only held up to about 40psi and would blow out at the barb fittings. I went to Home Depot and bought braided tubing and have not had a problem since then.
